It's July!

Happy 4th of July!  The color pallet this month is definately red, white and blue.  As a prom dress designer the end of July is the slowest month for me.  Canadians are finishing up on their gradulation dances and US and UK prom's are over with the beginning of summer vacation.  Weddings take place in the summer however, bridal parties have already purchased their bridesmaid gowns months ago.  Our bigger sales season will start again in September with the fall dances, Christmas dances, sweetheart dances, then New Year's eve gowns.  A few things on my to do list this month are:

  1. getting everything situated for our big photo shoot in August,
  2. determining which dresses to take to market (and which markets we may or may not attend).
  3. making last minute changes to our gowns.
  4. determining where our advertising budget is going to be spent.

I've been asked to write a book about prom.  I'm contemplating the issue.  Obviously I know prom like the back of my hand, but do I have the time to dedicate to writing a book?  More on this later....
